About the Therapies

The therapies I use are gentle, specific, and highly individualized. Rather than simply working where you feel pain or tension, I assess how the tissues of the body are moving and where deeper restrictions may be influencing movement and function.

The body is deeply interconnected. A restriction in one area can create tension through the fascia and affect structures some distance away. Because of this, the area that needs treatment is not always the same place where you feel your symptoms.

My work is based on listening to and following the body’s own patterns of tension and restriction, then using precise manual techniques to help restore healthier movement within the tissues.

Following the body’s lead is how we get the best results.

Visceral & Neural Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation and Neural Manipulation are gentle manual therapies that work with restrictions in and around the body’s deeper tissues and structures, including the organs, nerves, spine, joints, ligaments, muscles, and fascia.

Fascia forms a continuous network throughout the body, surrounding and connecting nearly every structure. When one area becomes restricted, tension can be transmitted through that network, sometimes affecting areas far from the original restriction.

Using techniques developed by osteopath Jean-Pierre Barral, D.O., I follow these patterns of tension to help identify areas that may be limiting normal movement. Treatment is then directed toward helping the restricted tissues regain greater mobility and ease.

Because the body is so interconnected, the area being treated may not be the same place where you feel pain or other symptoms.

Manual Approach to the Brain

The Barral Manual Approach to the Brain is a gentle, precise form of manual therapy developed by Jean-Pierre Barral, D.O. through decades of clinical work and research.

This approach works with the tissues and systems that influence the brain, including the meninges, blood vessels, nerves, eyes, cerebrospinal fluid, and surrounding structures.

Treatment may also address functional areas related to balance, coordination, sensory processing, proprioception, vision, hearing, smell, and other neurological functions.

The goal is not to force change, but to use very light, specific contact to support mobility and communication within these tissues and help the nervous system function as efficiently as possible.

Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy

Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy is a gentle hands-on approach that supports the movement of lymph fluid through the body.

The lymphatic system plays an important role in fluid balance, immune function, tissue health, and removal of cellular waste and debris. Because lymph does not have a central pump like the heart, its movement depends heavily on body movement, breathing, pressure changes, and the natural contractions of lymph vessels.

Using techniques developed by Dr. Bruno Chikly, M.D., I assess the direction and quality of lymph flow and work with areas that appear congested or restricted.

Treatment may include both superficial and deeper lymphatic pathways, depending on the individual and what the body is showing.

Manual lymph work may be helpful for supporting recovery after injury or surgery, reducing certain types of swelling or congestion, and supporting overall tissue health and circulation.

Your Role in the Process

Manual therapy can help create change, but the best results usually come when treatment is supported by what you do between sessions.

One of the most important things you can do is move your body regularly. Movement supports circulation, lymph flow, joint mobility, tissue health, and nervous system function.

Other helpful habits may include hydration, breathing, sleep, nutrition, and appropriate activity, depending on your individual needs.

Movement is life. Treatment can help remove restrictions, but your everyday habits help the body maintain and build on those changes.

Why I Use These Therapies

I have personally experienced the benefits of several of these approaches, including visceral, neural, vascular, brain, and lymphatic work.

That experience is part of what led me to continue studying these methods and incorporating them into my practice.

What I value most about this work is its specificity and precision: listening carefully to the body, following what the tissues are showing, and supporting change without forcing it.
